PANDORA AND THE JAR OF HOPE
at La Jolla Playhouse WOW Festival / TAS+SD

Created by
Courtney Corey, Wendy Maples, and Matthew Armstrong,
PANDORA AND THE JAR OF HOPE was commissioned
by La Jolla Playhouse for the WOW Festival.

This immersive and interactive piece was based on interviews, stories, art therapy projects, and roundtable discussions with kids and teens from all over San Diego county, including many students from Monarch School in Barrio Logan.

Artwork by these kids and teens centering on themes of “problems” and “hope” was displayed as audiences entered and exited the performance space. Some of this artwork was even featured at Art San Diego 2019. Students also created voice overs which were used throughout the performance piece.
